What if I don't know which service I need?

That's completely okay.

You don't have to know exactly what you need before reaching out. A Conversation With Jessica is specifically designed for people who aren't quite sure where to begin.

We can talk about what you're experiencing, what you're looking for, and what type of support may feel most appropriate for you.

What is Reiki?

Reiki is an energy-based healing practice that can be used as a supportive tool for relaxation, grounding, and energetic balance.

At Elara, I work with Advanced Kundalini Reiki, Gold Reiki, and Usui Reiki. Reiki sessions are available virtually and in person, as well as through group sessions.

What happens during a Reiki session?

Every session can look a little different because your needs may be different from someone else's.

You may simply relax while receiving Reiki, or we may incorporate conversation, grounding, intuitive awareness, or other supportive practices depending on the service you've chosen.

There is no requirement to "perform" or know how to meditate. You can simply arrive as you are.

What is Elara Wellness?

Elara Wellness is a whole-person wellness practice rooted in the belief that healing should feel safe, supportive, accessible, and deeply personal.

Through Reiki, emotional wellness support, spiritual practices, intuitive work, end-of-life care, and other natural healing modalities, Elara creates space for you to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and move toward greater balance in your mind, body, and spirit.

Is Elara Wellness a therapy practice?

No. Elara Wellness is a wellness practice, not a psychotherapy or medical practice.

My background in mental health informs the way I approach whole-person care, emotional regulation, and nervous-system support. However, Elara's services are not a substitute for psychotherapy, psychiatric care, medical treatment, or emergency services.

Do I need to be spiritual to work with Elara?

Not at all.

You don't have to follow a particular religion or spiritual belief system to receive support. You are welcome to explore what feels meaningful to you without judgment or pressure.

You can take what resonates with you and leave what doesn't.

Do you work with children?

Yes.

My background in behavioral and mental health and my experience as an educator inform my work with children and families.

Do I have to talk about my trauma?

No.

You are never required to share something simply because you think you "should."

Trauma-informed care means honoring your boundaries and allowing you to decide what you are ready to explore. Sometimes healing begins simply by learning that you can be supported without having to explain everything.

What might I experience during or after a Reiki session?

Everyone experiences Reiki differently, and there is no "right" way to feel during or after a session.

During a Reiki session, you may experience:

  • A sense of deep relaxation or calm
  • Warmth, coolness, tingling, or subtle sensations in the body
  • Heaviness or lightness
  • Feeling sleepy or deeply rested
  • Changes in breathing
  • Emotional release, such as tears or a feeling of relief
  • A sense of stillness, grounding, or peacefulness
  • Colors, images, memories, or intuitive impressions
  • Little to no noticeable sensation at all

After a session, some people describe feeling:

  • Calm, grounded, or refreshed
  • More aware of their emotions or body
  • Tired or ready to rest
  • Energized or lighter
  • Emotionally open or reflective
  • More connected to themselves
  • Like they need some quiet time to process the experience

Some people don't notice much immediately and may simply feel relaxed. Every experience is individual, and you don't need to feel a particular sensation for your session to be meaningful.

If you feel emotional, tired, or simply different afterward, give yourself some space to rest, hydrate, and gently notice what your body and emotions are communicating.
